Page 1 of 2 Razer has been synonymous with gaming devices for years now, and while in the past they may have looked great on paper and performed ‘OK’ they were often let down by their software or other small quirks. Today we take a look at their latest gaming mouse, the ‘DeathAdder’ and see if they’ve managed to find and eliminate a few of their old gremlins.
Firstly, its appearance, the DeathAdder has a black ‘rubber feel’ upper skin and buttons, over a black plastic frame, the only section to break from this gothic black appearance is the scroll wheel which is a white translucent rubber. When it’s plugged in, the looks department gets kicked up a notch (bam?) with the scroll wheel lighting up in a pleasant blue colour and a Razer logo that has been etched into the back coming to life with a blue light fading on and off every few seconds. Unlike many other mice, if these lights annoy you, you can turn one or both of them off with the included software. The Teflon feet on the bottom of the mouse make all movement smooth and effortless on most desktops and mouse pads, while the rubber-feel of the top of the mouse gives a good non-slip surface for your hand to grab onto. On the left hand side of the mouse are two thumb buttons, positioned in such a way that you’re unlikely to accidently press them in the heat of battle, and yet still within easy reach for when you need them.
