Page 4 of 4 Conclusion: The main advantage of the 7 series nForce chipsets over their 6 series counterparts is the inclusion of proper 3-way SLI support for the 780x chipsets, and better CPU support across the range. For the AMD users out there you’ll finally be able to know which type of nForce chipset you should be buying, as nVidia have finally started with a cross-the-board model standard. There is no doubt these will become very popular in the performance market for the 750x and enthusiast market for the 780x, because if you want to run SLI, you have no choice but to buy an nVidia chipset based motherboard. So these are sure to do well and hopefully we’ll see something of a performance gain over the previous generation nForce chips. I’ll keep judgement reserved on 3-way SLI until I see some benchmarks showing that it can actually be worth your money, so far from what I’ve seen around the net, this isn’t the case, but perhaps time will tell.
